How coding agents connect to swaggin

swaggin is a curated registry of 189 real websites and apps for coding agents. Metadata and search are free, and a free account is all the hosted server asks for.

Connect

Use the hosted MCP server over Streamable HTTP:

OAuth protects the server with the scopes openid asset:read offline_access; request only those scopes. Sign-in opens in a browser. For CI and other headless machines, run swaggin login <key> or set SWAGGIN_LICENSE.

Tools

  • list_taxonomy: the valid style, category, pattern, platform, and viewport ids. Call this first so a filter is never guessed.
  • search_designs: metadata-only search over the registry. Free and cheap, and the right way to build a shortlist.
  • get_screenshots: the images themselves, for the handful of designs worth looking at. Six per call at most.
  • get_site: the full record for one slug, including every screenshot caption.
  • random_inspiration: a sampled design when the brief is open-ended.

Access

Registry metadata, taxonomy, search results, and low-resolution fold previews are free. The hosted server authorizes every call, so they need a free account rather than a license. A license unlocks crisp folds, full-page overviews, and page segments. Licensed objects answer HTTP 402 without a license, so an agent can detect the boundary from the response instead of guessing. Pro is $9.99 per month and Lifetime is $199 as a single payment, both with 10,000 image requests per month as fair use. Any site owner can request removal of their entry.
